Think Outside the Book
A gloomy queen. A vaudevillian clown. A scatterbrained mage. A vengeful captain. And a girl from Brooklyn who has no special powers. They barely have anything in common except for one thing–they understand the power that stories hold. Together they must use the power of the story to save writers and storytellers from a monster on the hunt.
Here is art related to The Ink that Whispers–a middle-grade fantasy novel that I’m currently working on. To help with writer’s block, I’ve drawn pictures of the many colorful characters the protagonist encounters.
This series has both monochromatic art and full-color art depicting the characters in the story. The monochromatic art is made to look rough, while the full-color pieces are much smoother.
Recurring characters include Cricket–the heroine from the book, and various members of the Literati–characters that embody of story genres. Can you guess which person represents which genre?
